February PLC M= eeting Notes

 

Feb 9th – Review kayak building planning with Joe Grosjean. Kayak fee of $45 due.  BSA 100 year anniversary. Get head count for White Tanks. Cardboard boat race  sign up.

Feb 13-15th – Archery 9am Saturday. Kayak building to start at 1pm.  Optional camping and bri= ng own food.

Feb 16th – Patrol food plan – bring patrol boxes-work on food plan in cooking merit badge workbook. Food pyramid review for merit ba= dge and find out who can drive.  G= et commitment.

Feb 19th – Philmont meeting at the= MacNabbs @7pm

Feb 20th – Rifle 9am – meet at Safeway at 8:15am

Feb 23rd – Finalize patrol shopping list, who will shop, patrol boxes ready. Review camping list and review camping merit badge requirement= s.

Feb 26-28th –  White Tanks Camping.  Friday, meet 4:30 and leave at 4:4= 5 pm from Safeway. Cooking competition each patrol needs themed meal plan and activity to share. For the activity think scout advance= ment and merit badge requirements. Waterfall hike needed after all the calories = that will be consumed. Work on any other advancement activities asked for, examp= les: lashings, identifying local plants or animals, review safety for hiking.

March 2nd – Brian from cycle shop to give bike safety and maintenance talk. Patrick to give him cycle merit badge requirements so he = can base his talk from that. Rummage sale sign up??<= o:p>

March 6th – Rummage sale time and location TBD but will be very early.  Al= so, selling muffins and coffee and juice for fundraiser.

March 7th – Next PLC meeting at Murphy’s at 3pm=

March 9th meeting will be at Lomas at 6:45 pm for the Pinewood Derby races. We will be judging cars.

March 13th – Archery at 9 am, meet at Safeway at 8:15 am.

March 12-14th – Backpacking – first practice trip for Philmont – hike TBD. All are welcome to come al= ong.

March 20th – Rifle @ noon.?? Is that = the correct time?  Meet at Safeway= at 11:30am.

March 23rd – Plan Kayak camping= trip. Review safety requirements needed.

March 26-28th – Camping at Dead Horse Ranch State Park. Ponds to practice with kayaks but also for fishing and hiking.

April 9-11th – Backpacking – second practice trip for Philmont – hike TBD. All are welcome to come al= ong.

April 9-11th – Jamb-o-rama – we decided not to have a booth or camp there but encourage those who are not backpacking to attend for the day activities.  We decided that selling the ticket= s may be a good fundraiser – Ming to look into what we need to do for the ticket sales.

April 13th – Pack 178 Arrow of = Light ceremony – need location and time.

April 17th – Cardboard boat races – need to work on these starting in March.  Separate i= nto two age groups, get design, get cardboard, who c= an store the boat during construction.

April 27th – Eagle ceremony for Tyler, Michael, Casey and Patric= k

Looking to have Scout Talent Show in May.=   S= ean B. to find out what weekends the church may be open and if we can use it. Will sell food as fundraiser.  Will sell tick= ets as fundraiser.

May 21-23rd – Backpacking – third practice trip for Philmont – hike TBD.  This may be combined as our troop monthly camping.
